An independent geotechnical consultancy providing chartered-level specialist ground engineering advice.
Ground conditions carry risk at every stage of a development — from initial site appraisal through to construction and long-term performance. CGB Geo works alongside developers, designers, contractors and private site owners to identify these risks early and turn them into practical, cost-effective engineering solutions, so geotechnical uncertainty is resolved rather than left to surface later in the programme.
Our approach is grounded in clear, defensible technical judgement: understanding what the ground information shows, what it means for planning, design and cost, and how best to communicate that to planners, local authorities, funders and project teams.
Typical engagements range from a single site visit or desk-based review through to management of ground investigation, construction-stage supervision, and post-completion review against the geotechnical specification. Clients work directly with a Chartered Engineer on every commission — not handed between junior staff — with the responsiveness and cost-efficiency of an independent practice. No site is too small for our attention, and we are equally happy to take on modest, single-issue assignments as we are larger, multi-phase commissions.
